Description |
The Cocoon Nebula (IC 5146) lies roughly 4000 light years away from earth in the constellation of Cygnus. This nebula is a stellar nursery with emission, reflection, and absorption components, as well as a star cluster. There is a massive star at the center of the nebula that provides much of the energy for the emission and reflection of this object. |
